Port Container Industries
Originally a container yard in the Port of Houston, Port Container Industries has assumed a completely different look and function by the time it was purchased by Lester Smith in 1982.
PCI, under Smith's direction, started with six acres of outside storage and only 7,500 square feet of inside storage, and began catching steel and wood products from foreign and domestic shippers at the North Side City Dock in the Port of Houston.
By offering excellent, reliable service, Port Container Industries has experienced steady growth since 1982 and now offers more than 100,000 square feet of inside storage. Much of the inside storage is serviced by a 20-ton overhead crane, and all of the inside storage is heated. The Houston operation is serviced by one 50,000-pound forklift, eight 30,000-pound forklifts and one 8,000-pound lift. Port Container Industries also operates a fleet of 35 trucks in the Port of Houston, as well as in the metro Houston area.
Port Container Industries offers every customer a total package of services. Whether you need to ship, store, count or just transload your products, on ships, barges, trains or trucks, rely on PCI to handle your transportation needs.
